auo sets up solution r&d center in southern taiwan

AU Optronics (AUO) has inaugurated an R&D center in southern Taiwan as part of a wider plan to accelerate its biaxial “Go Premium, Go Vertical” transformation strategy and build a smart and sustainable IoT ecosystem.

The AUO Solution R&D Center is situated in 5G AIoT Innovation Park in Kaohsiung, where a team of 300 engineers will be stationed, according to the panel maker.

The center will serve as a base for AUO to develop and test multiple solutions for different scenario applications, enabling it to deepen its deployment in the vertical market.

By optimizing its core display technology integrated with software and cloud service platforms, the R&D center will also develop related solutions supporting its established strategy to cater to smart medicine, smart manufacturing, smart entertainment, smart retail, and smart transportation.

AUO has built a gallery inside the new R&D center. The Find ARTs AUO Gallery is designed to demonstrate AUO’s advanced anti-reflective 8K ultra-high-resolution technology.

AUO also highlighted its latest development of smart mobile office cabins at the R&D center, noting that the cabins come with integrated smart management solutions and are easy to install.
