Martin Viecha, one of the automaker’s executives, talked to the investors during the recent invite-only event in San Francisco on Monday, Sept. 12.
He shared their plans for the next five years, including the upcoming price drops for Tesla units. Recently, the EV maker had to increase its electric car prices due to the worsening inflation.

The new plant, officially called the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, officially opened on March 22 with an event with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
However, the company’s CEO said that a more budget-friendly Tesla unit would allegedly start at around $25,000.
Now, it seems like this will come true as Viecha explained that the cost of making vehicles is among their major plans in the next five years, as reported by Business Insider.
He added that Tesla needs to have a broad portfolio if it wants to be a high-volume automaker. The executive further explained that the EV developer must offer cheaper electric cars before the upcoming robotaxi service is launched.

Aside from the cheaper EV unit, Viecha also said that the Tesla Model Y might be the best-selling unit in 2023.
“Model Y will basically next year become the best selling vehicle of any kind of all time in the world,” said the company’s executive.
However, he didn’t clarify if the Model Y would be among the units that would have reduced prices.
