Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, working with the Highway Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has reportedly detained around 125 individuals allegedly in the U.S. unlawfully while operating commercial vehicles. The joint operation has expanded a state removal program and seen multiple arrests and inspections. Oklahoma Public Safety Commissioner Tim Tipton noted that some single-name and expired licenses have complicated enforcement.

Stitt said, "I want to thank our troopers and ICE officials for their hard work." He added, "This is about keeping Oklahomans safe." Stitt stated, "If New York wants to hand out CDLs to illegal immigrants with ‘No Name Given,’ that’s on them. The moment they cross into Oklahoma, they answer to our laws."

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced emergency limits on noncitizen eligibility for commercial learner’s permits and driver’s licenses after a nationwide audit revealed widespread improper issuance.

Officials linked the move to scrutiny following a Florida crash involving a driver allegedly not lawfully present with commercial credentials from other states. Oklahoma Corporation Commission Chair Kim David has described the effort as public‑safety driven and said collaboration with law enforcement partners will reduce roadway risks. David said, "Oklahomans deserve safe highways."

Oklahoma Corporation Commission Commissioner Todd Hiett said, "Our officers’ professionalism, training and use of technology quickly assess each driver and rig to resolve permitting concerns, issue a ticket with an associated fine, or require the driver to pull over and submit to further inspection of their credentials or truck."
