The Greta Harper ZX Series-I electric scooter is offered in a choice of five colours

Gujarat-based electric vehicle (EV) start-up Greta Electric Scooters has announced the launch of the Greta Harper ZX Series-I electric scooters. The electric scooters are offered with a unique payment plan where customers can choose battery and charger in line with their usage to fit the scooter at the best value. The base price of the Greta Harper ZX Series-I scooters is ₹ 41,999 (Ex-showroom). The Greta Harper ZX Series-I comes with charger technology that offers a full charge in 5 hours and 80 per cent charge in 3 hours.

The Greta Harper ZX Series-I electric scooter is offered in a choice of 48-60 V battery options and different chargers. Customers can pay the price of the scooter according to the selected battery and charger type.

The scooter is powered by a BLDC motor and works with 48-60 Volt Li-Ion battery variants. Customers can choose a range of batteries, offering 60 km to 100 km range with varying voltage, and will be priced from ₹ 17,000, going up to ₹ 31,000. Depending on the customer’s choice, the price of the charger will range from ₹ 3,000 to ₹ 5,000, the company announced. carandbike reached out to Greta Electric Scooters for more details on the electric scooter’s performance, top speed and acceleration, but have yet to hear back with details.

I am sure with this offering, more and more customers will be able to look at owning an EV, and the added safety features will add to their confidence in choosing an EV for a hassle-free ride,” said Raj Mehta, Founder, Greta Electric Scooters.

Maximum claimed range is 100 km on a single charge, although the company has not disclosed the top speed.

The Greta Harper ZX Series-I comes with a three-speed drive mode, reverse mode, LED digital instrument cluster display and keyless start. Additional features include cruise control, wireless controller, highway lights, side indicator buzzer and LED meter with trip re-set. Safety features include ignition/child lock, park mode, fixed reverse speed limit, improved cell shock absorbers and IP65 grade water proofing to the Greta ZX Series-I. The scooter rides on 10-inch wheels, with telescopic front fork, rear cell shock absorbers and a hydraulic disc brake at the front with a drum brake at the rear.

Greta Electric Scooters is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raj Electromotives Pvt. Ltd., and was founded in 2019 by Raj Mehta, the youngest founder of an automotive company. Raj Electromotives, now Raj Electromotives Pvt. Ltd., was the first venture of Raj Mehta, established in 2015 at the tender age of 14 years. The company offers conversion kits to convert pedal-operated bicycles, pedal rickshaws (passenger and commercial), tricycles for the specially-abled and bikes (India’s first-ever Retro-Fitment kit) to electric.

Pre-bookings of the electric scooter have been announced at Greta Experience Studios, with a pre-booking offer of ₹ 2,000 and effective price of ₹ 39,999. The company says the electric scooters will be delivered to customers within 45-75 days as per the booking sequence.
